Weekend

This weekend we went to a BBQ at Paul's MawMaws' house. We got to see some family, and eat his uncle's delicious BBQ chicken. Raylee had a good time showing off all her new crawling skills.

Then on Sunday we watched football. It was sad to see the Texans lose, but at least it was to the Cowboys. Raylee still showed her support for the team!

She looked like a little boy with Daddy's hat on!

That's better!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Getting Our Exercise

Yesterday, the family decided we needed to get some exercise. We loaded up, and went to the community center to walk/jog a mile. It was nice to get some use from Raylees' stroller. She enjoyed getting pushed, looking at the squirrels, and we enjoyed burning some calories. Today Paul was off again, so there has been a lot of cooking today, probably making all the exercise irrelevant, but it was fun anyway!

Here is a picture of the cutie pie in her stroller:

Don't worry though, Raylee has been getting her exercise too, Within a matter of hours, she has almost mastered crawling. This video is from tonight, when she was trying to get some sunglasses. Yes, our carpet is blue, but it is clean and that's what matters right?

Hope you have a great rest of the week!

7 Months

Yesterday, Raylee turned 7 months old. Here is what Raylee is up to at 7 months:

  • Can sit unassisted
  • Can say Hi, Yea, & sometimes Dada
  • Is crawling, but not long distances. She has to really want it.
  • Has two teeth, both on the bottom
  • Is in size 3 diapers and 6-9 months clothes
  • Loves her jumper, and can jump side to side & up and down, very enthusiastically
  • Is eating fruits & vegetable baby food, but still loves her ba-ba
  • Still has blue eyes
Recently Raylee got her first pair of sunglasses from her Grammie. They are too stinkin cute.

Raylee the past 7 months have been the best 7 months of my life. You bring unending joy & happiness from the minute you wake up until the time you finally close your eyes to sleep. Your Dad & I love you so much, and can't believe you are ours. Thank you for being exactly who you are, because we would not want it any other way!

Football Sunday

After getting to go see the Texans play and win last week. I was looking forward to watching the game at home with my family. We put some ribs in the slow cooker, and I made my yummy potato salad & mac-n-cheese.

The Cowboys' game was a disappointment, and it looked like the Texans were in for the same fate. They were behind 27-10 at one point, and I just had to stop watching. Paul has better nerves than I do, and I could hear him cheering so I decided to turn it back. The Texans were only down by 7, and then Andre Johnson got a TOUCHDOWN on 4th & 10 to tie the game! It went into overtime, and after icing the other teams kicker, the Texans were able to score a field goal to WIN the game 30-27. LOVE IT! It was so awesome, and was a great way to enjoy the day.

The Texans also had this little good luck charm cheering them on:

She got her 1st jersey last week, and even though it's  little big we decided to try it out!

Here is another one because I just couldn't resist!

Have a great week!

Happy Friday!

We are so glad that it is Friday! Friday's really are the best. Paul gets two days off, we get to relax, and sleep in if Raylee will allow it. We are really trying to make the transition to her crib every night. She will take her naps in there, but at night she wakes herself up, and can not go back to sleep. If I put her in my bed she will roll over and sleep for 8 HOURS! It is so tempting!

However lately she has been doing something that has made it a much easier decision to put her in her own bed. I caught her doing this today:

She was trying to scale my headboard to get to her paci. When she realized I had caught her I got this:

It is so hard to resist that silly little smile. She was proud of herself! She can't even crawl yet, and she is already trying to climb! I have a feeling we are going to be in for some exciting times with this one! Hope everybody has a great weekend!

Texans VS. Colts

On Sunday, Paul & I got up reeeeaaaallllyyyy early to head to Reliant Stadium for tailgating and the Houston Texans season opener. My mom agreed to babysit Raylee, (Thank You Mom!) so we could enjoy some time doing something that we both love. The game did NOT disappoint. I remember at one point the Texans running back had just scored another touchdown right in front of us, and my Dad & Paul high fiving in front of me. Makes my heart smile to be able to enjoy memories like those. Thank you Dad, for the chance to get to go to the game. Oh, and the Texans WON! Woo Hoo!

About to head to our Seats

National Anthem

GO TEXANS!

We ran into some pretty bad storms on the way home, but were able to make it safely back home. It was so nice to see Raylee, and enjoy the rest of the evening together. Now we are trying to get back into the swing of things around here. Hope everyone has a great week!

Teething & Crawling

Hope your Saturday is going well. Today we had a nice family day. Raylee slept in until 10:30! (woohoo), and then she got a bath.I took this picture before we left to go run some errands for the game tomorrow!

Raylee is teething big time! The poor little girl always has her hands in her mouth. Now that she is able to grab things we have to be constantly aware of what she can get her hands on, because it will surely end up in her mouth! So far she has two little teeth poking through on the bottom.

                                                              2 teeth on bottom

This is the zoomed out version of the picture above. Raylee wanted the camera pretty bad, and we thought it was pretty funny. She is getting quick at grabbing any and everything within arms reach.

Raylee is also getting close to crawling. She can pull herself up onto all fours and rock back and forth. I caught a little video of some close attempts. It won't be long until she is mobile. Oh goodness!

Whew!

Things have been going well around here lately. A LOT of fantasy football talk, as the season is about to begin. It is definitely one of Paul's favorite hobbies, but I am looking forward to some real football this weekend. GO TEXANS!

This past weekend we had the chance to visit with my step-sister Amber, her husband Jesse, and their little girl Anna Carol. Anna is only 6 weeks younger than Raylee, and she is a DOLL. I got a picture of them holding hands. I hope they will be sweet friends as they grow up.

Raylee is doing well. Trying new foods everyday. She really likes carrots and mango. We started her on a sippy cup, and she took to it like a natural. This weekend my mom is going to come watch Raylee so we can go to the Texans game. It will be the longest that Paul & I have gone away from her, but we know she is in good hands, and we are looking forward to some "adult time."

First Post

For a while now, I have been wanting to start a blog. Having read them avidly since college, chances are if you are reading this, and have a blog I have most likely read it. They've made me laugh, cry, and ultimately; be INSPIRED.  There is no time like the present to start my own, and as far as the reason; I want to have page where friends and family can keep up with this little girl:

Raylee Michelle ~ 6 Months Old

This little girl makes my days exciting! Sometimes my nights as well. She is growing up and changing every day. This will be a place to record the special stuff. Records of Raylee.  Pictures can say 1,000 words, but sometimes don't tell the WHOLE story. For this 1st post here are some pictures though, because I've got some catching up to do.

1 Month

Smiley Pants

Beach Baby

And we are the lucky two that get to be her parents. One of truly the hardest jobs, if done right. We are so blessed to have Raylee bring joy and happiness every day. Our prayer for her is to follow her heart, and put God first. The rest will work itself out. We love you Raylee!
